askm...
today 1st day of year 2 sem 1 attachment at cgh ward 44 aka respiratory ward..
1st one to arrive..lonely until saw some familiar faces..erni..shasha..nadiah...list goes on
went to ward via staff door..but cannot be opened until a cleaner tapped her card to let us in...
reason why it was locked coz ward 34..is a what i like to call a 'prison ward'
guarded by a police officer in front of the ward...and the place is closed always except for staff with the identity card...they gt this cool door which consists of those prison bars + cgh typical automatic door...cool!
went to sign in...then to conference room where the CI briefed us abt the ward layouts and blahx3
then off to break..ate waffles and ordered nasi lemak for lunch later..
went back to ward..1st thing i did was en told me to accompany patient to bath since he's on fall precaution..
then sibuk2 ngok case notes...saw some familiar ite students in the ward too..
serve medication for the first time ever..drug= famotidine..had to crush it since pt on ngt
then fed him thru ngt..its been long since i fed a pt thru ngt..
they not so good thing abt ward 44 is that they use ph indicator and not the good old blue litmus paper!!!!..gahh!!!
assisted hanis in teaching a indo maid how to perform ngt feeding to her 'employer'
since her malay not that gd...
ate lunch..back to work...blahx3
workx3...then at 3pm..CI called us to go to conference room..to share our experience for the 1st day..the other CI..very erm..talkative/interuptive..keep asking qns..like what is tachy/bradycardia..simple ones yea...
then sign out...
home..
